Two things are given. The location: LEDcave Mannheim, a production studio with a 10 x 5.5 meter 12k curved LED. And the musical framework: three acts, three songs - one of which is a cover version performed exclusively for Collide. Our task is to combine these elements into a digital-first experience. It quickly becomes clear that this requires a holistic production approach - from conception to implementation - and individual color, theme and mood worlds for each individual act.[:de]Weil das Reeperbahn Festival w\u00e4hrend der Corona-Pandemie ausfallen musste, wird ab 2021 das rein digitale Musikformat Collide f\u00fcr YouTube realisiert. They provide inspiration through artwork, merch designs, lyrics and more. Coordination happens via animatics and mood boards on Frame.io, while implementation takes the form of reactive visuals: in TouchDesigner, we program a dynamic visual performance that reacts live to the music. We set up a custom, high-performance hardware and software system for this, refined and expanded over the years.
