To make credible contact with this community on an equal footing, we created an experience that appreciates and celebrates the core of this community: the Apes themselves, which are both collector's items and objects of identification. So, we realized a projection mapping installation in which only Ape holders could have their Ape immortalized on a BMW.[:de]Der Bored Apes Yacht Club ist eine ganz besondere weltweite Community, mit der BMW in Kontakt treten wollte. \"[:en]To honor the visual language of the Ape community, we developed the idea of designing the car to appear as if it were 'sticker-bombed' with Apes. The brilliant, bright projection on the BMW i5 against the Hong Kong skyline created a truly mesmerizing image. Each sequence began with an animation of the Ape Holder\u2019s own Ape taking over the entire vehicle, giving them the chance to capture this unique moment on their smartphone. Only then did the respective Ape join the collective artwork.[:de]Um die visuelle Sprache der Ape-Community zu w\u00fcrdigen, entwickelten wir die Idee, das Auto so zu gestalten, als w\u00e4re es mit Apes \u201esticker-bombed\u201c. After selecting one of their Apes, the experience can be personalized with additional design elements. Following the projection, participants receive a Proof of Attendance Protocol (POAP) in their blockchain wallet \u2013 a secure confirmation of their participation. The POAPs also allow continued engagement with participants after the event, creating a small yet highly exclusive target group of great interest to the brand.
